Euromalt is the trade association representing the malting industry in the European Union.
Established in 1959 Euromalt aims at the representation and promotion of interests of the EU malting industry at EU and international levels, of the sourcing of raw materials as well as of the manufacture, distribution and malt trade.
The Association reunites processors of a value added product: malt produced in the EU is a very competitive product while the European industry is the leading worldwide malt exporter.
Malt is a gift of nature: the first process of malting is very similar to what occurs in nature when the grain is sown in the earth while malting barley has been malted for over 7 000 years. Malt is made from malting grade cereals, usually barley or wheat, although occasionally other cereals such as rye may be used.
